The new location is led by Michele Dorsey, a certified senior care advisor and dementia practitioner, who is dedicated to providing families with expert guidance through the often overwhelming process of choosing the right senior care options for their loved ones.
Meet Michele Dorsey
A longtime Houston area resident based in Humble, Dorsey brings more than two decades of business management experience, including an MBA in leadership, to her new role as a Senior Care Authority franchisee. Her lifelong passion for serving older adults, rooted in a childhood spent close to her family’s elder generation and deepened through years of church-based community service, inspired her to leave a successful accounting career to do work she truly loves.
“I am excited about actually meeting with families, getting to know them, and building a relationship with them,” said Dorsey. “Senior Care Authority prides itself on not just placing someone and walking away. We check in, we continue to be a resource, and we’re there for the long haul.”
Dorsey’s commitment to seniors is both personal and professional. Having walked closely alongside friends navigating a parent’s dementia diagnosis, including the difficult decision to transition a loved one out of the home, she understands firsthand the emotional complexity families face. She also plans to bring Senior Care Authority’s resources directly into the communities where seniors are already gathering, including churches and community centers throughout her territory, with a focus on education around dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and healthy aging.
In addition to placement services, Dorsey is pursuing certification in Senior Care Authority’s Beyond Driving with Dignity program, which provides structured assessments to help seniors and their families make informed, dignity-centered decisions about driving.
“This has always been my passion — to serve,” Dorsey shared. “I used to say, if I could figure out how to make a living at volunteering, that’s what I would do. Now I get to do exactly that, and my family is already excited about building something that could become a legacy for all of us.”
