New York City is home to 1.1 million adults over the age of 65.  Over the next 40 years, the number of Americans 65 and older is expected to double, creating a hot market for senior living communities nationwide.

Traditional nursing homes are a thing of the past.  Make way for the new, modern, luxurious and perk packed communities of the future, where day to day life is more like a cruise ship on land.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Shivani Vora of the New York Post about how assisted living communities have evolved, and what seniors can expect to see in the future. Communities nowadays are nothing like this and feature pools, spas, tons of activities, gourmet meals and happy hours, to name just a few amenities one might expect to find.  Seniors now have the opportunity to thoroughly enjoy their golden years with others that have similar interests while maintaining their independence but without the responsibilities that come with staying in their homes.
