The Senior Care Authority (SCA) community came together January 10-13, 2025, for its highly anticipated National Conference. This year’s event provided franchisees, leadership and industry experts with an opportunity to connect and celebrate the ongoing mission of providing compassionate, expert guidance to families navigating care decisions for older family members.
Key Themes and Event Highlights
The conference agenda was packed with insightful discussions, industry-leading panels and networking opportunities. Attendees participated in roundtable discussions covering essential topics such as compassion in business and how AI is shaping the future of franchise operations. These sessions encouraged open dialogue and collaboration among franchisees, reinforcing SCA’s commitment to continuous improvement.
One of the standout sessions, Merging the Mission and the Model led by President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Molnar, explored how franchisees can align their passion for senior care with sustainable business growth. Meanwhile, the If I Knew Then What I Know Now panel, moderated by Adam Flattau, featured seasoned franchisees David Stamberg, Travis Drake, Mike Kearney and Don Minter, sharing valuable lessons learned in their years of experience of SCA business ownership.
A forward-thinking session about the future of memory care, offered by expert speaker Gary Johnson, delved into the foundation of the Montessori Method and its application in improving philosophical and practical approaches to caring for people with cognitive impairment and dementia. This was especially poignant to this audience, who have seen firsthand the increase in people living with dementia and the need for better care strategies.
To further shine a light on an aspect of cognitive decline often not seen, two couples facing the challenges of a partner with dementia, generously spoke to the group about their experience, insights, and thoughts about the future. “What Is It Like to Live with Dementia” was a stand out moment in the Conference.
Empowering Franchisees Through Digital Marketing and AI
One focus of this year’s conference was the power of digital marketing to elevate brand awareness and engagement. The session Building Momentum Together: Digital Marketing as a Catalyst for Growth highlighted strategies to enhance SCA’s online presence.
Franchisees learned how to compete with industry giants through targeted paid campaigns, strategic SEO and AI-powered business development tools.
SCA also introduced AI-driven and other solutions aimed at increasing conversion rates and improving customer engagement. With data showing that responding to leads within five minutes increases conversions ninefold, the implementation of AI business development agents was a hot topic. Attendees were given a first look at how these tools will shape franchise growth in 2025 and beyond.
Recognizing Excellence: Franchisee Awards
As always, a major highlight of the Conference was the presentation of the 2024 Franchisee of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards, recognizing outstanding achievements and contributions within the SCA network.
- Franchisee of the Year: Travis Drake and Marti James (Ogden, Utah)
- Rookie of the Year: Melanie DiNicola (New Haven County, Connecticut)
“These franchisees embody the heart of what Senior Care Authority stands for,” said Marcy Baskin, Senior Vice President of franchise support and training. “Their compassion, expertise and dedication to their client families exemplify our mission to provide guidance through critical decisions with confidence and integrity. We are so proud to honor their contributions and celebrate their success.”
Looking to the Future
The conference also featured an inspiring conversation between Senior Care Authority Founder Frank Samson, and Dr. Jay Olshansky, providing a thought-provoking discussion on aging and longevity.
The event concluded with the always popular Ask the Experts panel, where attendees engaged directly with top performing franchisees to discuss challenges and strategies for continued success.
As Senior Care Authority looks ahead, the 2025 National Conference reinforced its mission of guiding families through the challenges of elder care with confidence and compassion. The shared insights, new tools and strengthened relationships will empower franchisees to continue making a meaningful impact in their communities.
