Erin Dwyer has always had a career in the helping professions. Her BA in Psychology is from the U. of Notre Dame and her Masters is in Communication Disorders from Fontbonne University. She spent 18 years working with children and adults with special needs as a speech-language pathologist in the St. Louis area. Erin has worked in hospitals, clinics, and both public and private school settings.
Erin decided to start her Senior Care Authority business in 2018 because she saw the growing number of Baby Boomers and their families seeking guidance in choosing independent living or assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, seeking safety staying in the home, & easing transitions into senior communities.
Erin, a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®), Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), CarFit Technician, and Beyond Driving with Dignity professional, and her team are eager & pleased to assist families with any and all services related to eldercare consulting, Medicare/Medicaid, senior advocacy and education, senior driving, and determining the best senior living options for your loved ones.

Angie Rebsamen RRT

Consultant & Placement Specialist

Angie Rebsamen has a Bachelor of Health Sciences with a Specialty in Respiratory Therapy. For over 25 years she has worked in the St. Louis Healthcare community. She has spent time in hospitals, homecare/durable medical equipment, pulmonary rehab and sales/marketing. Angie uses all of her years of experience and professional contacts to guide individuals and their families on whatever journey they might be on.

Carrie Kusturin SRES®, CSA®

Consultant & Placement Specialist

Carrie is a Certified Senior Advisor®, Elder Care Strategist, and Placement Specialist. She has been working with Erin’s team since August of 2022. Her passion for helping seniors began while working in senior living communities in high school and college. More recently, she has helped her mom navigate the complex challenges of caregiving for both her grandmother and dad. Experiencing this firsthand, she is even more dedicated to providing families with the services and advocacy they need during the most challenging circumstances. In addition, she is a Missouri Licensed Realtor® and Senior Real Estate Specialist®. This allows her to provide her clients the most comprehensive support available, whether the goal is aging in place, downsizing or moving into a senior living community. She brings a compassionate approach to all her clients and treats them like she would her own family.

Kari Lenz LNHA, CDP, CSA®

Consultant & Placement Specialist

Kari has always had a passion for serving others. She grew up learning from her dad & his business that served all of the area nursing homes with mobile x-rays services. This is where her passion for seniors started. Kari has a bachelor’s in psychology & sociology from Maryville University. She spent the first part of her career in health & fitness with the YMCA and her love for seniors continued to grow so much that in 2012 she made a shift into Senior Living. At her first community she saw a need for serving seniors that needed more cognitive stimulation and safety, so she worked with the owner and builders to convert a section of the community into their first memory care. She spent over 13 years running Assisted Living & Memory Care Communities in St. Louis. As a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Certified Dementia Practitioner she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to help clients navigate the options out there. She can truly relate to the adult child from her own experience with her mom who was living with vascular dementia and most recently, helping her dad figure out the next best steps after his stroke. Kari is a compassionate person who loves to serve others and, in the process, help them find what brings them joy.

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.

About Us

Founder and CEO, Frank Samson launched Senior Care Authority® in 2009 with our first location in Sonoma County, California. Previously, Frank built a concierge travel-based franchise into a premier global brand with over 75 franchise owners. With his 20 years of expertise in the franchise industry and a passion to help families and their aging loved ones, Frank identified a need in the senior industry for a concierge approach to help families through challenging and stressful circumstances.
