Daniel (Smitty) Smith CSA, CDP

Area Owner

Senior Care Advisor

Smitty brings decades of experience in creative leadership and logistics to his work in senior care consulting. He spent his career as an art director for commercials, managing complex productions, coordinating teams, and solving high-pressure challenges – skills that now support families navigating important senior care decisions. He is a member of the Art Directors Guild and has worked in Los Angeles since 1999.

Since settling in the South Bay in 2018, he has become deeply invested in supporting his local community. He approaches senior placement with empathy, organization, and transparency, helping families understand their options and find the right level of care for their loved ones. Outside of work, he is an avid beach volleyball player, enjoys snowboarding and museums, and volunteers regularly with the LA Food Bank.

Amber Connor

Senior Care Concierge

Amber is dedicated to helping families feel informed, supported, and confident when making older adult care decisions. She brings a strong background in real estate, having worked as both an agent and a transaction coordinator – experience that translates naturally into navigating timelines, options, and important details during major life transitions.

An avid animal lover and health enthusiast, she has many years of experience in teaching pilates and caring for animals – reflecting her natural caregiving instincts and commitment to creating calm, safe environments. Amber moved to Los Angeles almost 20 years ago and has lived all around this multi-faceted city, finally finding her perfect place to call home within the lovely cities of South Bay LA.

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.

About Us

Founder and CEO, Frank Samson launched Senior Care Authority® in 2009 with our first location in Sonoma County, California. Previously, Frank built a concierge travel-based franchise into a premier global brand with over 75 franchise owners. With his 20 years of expertise in the franchise industry and a passion to help families and their aging loved ones, Frank identified a need in the senior industry for a concierge approach to help families through challenging and stressful circumstances.
