Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.Call Us Today
I have worked for 27 years in Healthcare. I began in radiology, working with patients and their families throughout the hospital. My career continued in Orthopedics and Spine Specialties. After several years of managing a Spine Specialties Clinic, I had found my passion - assisting patients and their families with the difficulties of managing recovery from spinal disease and injury. Spinal issues truly impact every aspect of life for the patient and their family. I was able to advise them how to manage their work, their treatment options, and encourage them to make their way towards a better quality of life.
Decreased ambulation and chronic pain even more severely impacts our aging community. I find it very gratifying to work with families and caregivers to optimize comfort and restore functionality.
My background in healthcare has given me great insight into the experiences of our patients and clients. I assisted with trauma, surgery, diagnostics, recovery and the more acute care in a hospital setting. I then migrated to the outpatient setting where meeting the needs of our patients and families was my main focus.
Personal experience with my parents’ challenges as they have aged has sparked my passion to assist families with these life-changing events. My father’s health decline over his last 2 years has had significant impact on me as well as my family. I have been able to assist him and support my family through the difficult transitions from multiple open-heart surgeries, recovery and rehab. Ultimately getting him in a comfortable place where he was well attended with advanced care was helpful as his cancer progressed.
I spend a lot of time at church, with my children, grandchild and family. I love to camp, kayak, musicals and just catching up over dinner with friends and family. Exploring new cities, nature hikes and great food is my idea of a fun day. I spent most of my young and adult life playing volleyball and still enjoy a good game. My educational focus was Health Sciences and Health Administration Training. This was carried out throughout my career in healthcare from diagnostics to managing a spine specialty care clinic.
Through my professional and personal experiences I have learned how sudden or chronic illness can affect a family and how powerful it can be to have someone help you navigate the tough decisions. Finding the right help in a timely manner is imperative. I want to be that person who can help bring calm to the storm.
