Growing up in New England surrounded by a large extended family, my elders have always been a large part of my life. Even after passing on, they continue to be a part of my life. They act as a gauge for me to evaluate my actions through their eyes.

After a long and successful career as a portfolio manager, investing billions of dollars in domestic and international index funds, I started thinking about what to do next. I truly enjoyed my time in investment management, but after I retired, I needed to find a way to give back. Seniors face immense challenges with their health (and paying for care), living situation, family matters, and their legacy. I want to help.

I have been blessed with relatively healthy parents, but my family has been touched by Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, mobility issues, navigating senior living options, veteran’s services, and in-home care. When my father-in-law decided it was time to move from his home on Cape Cod, we were unsure about where to look for his next home. We didn’t know the questions to ask, the places to look, nor did we have an accurate picture of the emotional and financial impacts of the next stage. We eventually found an excellent community in Falmouth, Maine, which met his needs.

From these challenges, I realized there’s an opportunity to help seniors and their families through the aging process. Senior Care Authority has given me the extensive network, training, and support to help you navigate these difficult waters. I can do a lot of legwork to help find a living situation that meets your needs and goals. I can help you reduce the stress and save time and resources that are better spent within your family.

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Company History

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.
