After 30 years of owning and operating restaurants in locations from Niagara Falls to the Virgin Islands, a family medical emergency brought me back to care for my parents at their home in Buffalo. When my mother passed, my father began a slow decline physically with one major event leading to the need to place him into assisted living. Like most people facing this challenge, I did not know how to navigate the older adult care environment. I called an eldercare consultant. This person made the process so much easier and allowed me to have the information necessary to make the best decision for my father and the family. An eventual move to Knoxville led to the realization that I didn’t have it in me to return to hospitality. With the aid of a franchise consultant, serendipitous timing and the level of knowledge and passion observed from other franchisees and company ownership, I decided to open a Senior Care Authority franchise in Knoxville. Opening the business required months of rigorous training, including two required national recognized certifications- Certified Senior Advisor and Certified Dementia Practitioner. I am also a member of NPRA, the National Placement and Referral Alliance.

I am looking forward to years ahead of helping families navigate the most difficult process of finding help for their older loved ones.

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.
