MARK AND RACHEL HEALY

MARK AND RACHEL HEALY

Area Owners

Mark and Rachel Healy understand the emotional upheaval families experience when their aging loved ones’ care needs change. Their journey began with moving Rachel's parents from rural Virginia to Ohio in 2009. This marked a poignant transition after over 40 years in their family home. Sorting through a lifetime of memories was just the beginning. They quickly navigated the complexities of finding Skilled Nursing for Rachel's father and ensuring her mother's independence in a new setting. Rachel eventually became her mother’s primary caregiver in their home after a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease.

More recently, they faced similar challenges with Mark's mother, guiding her move from Houston, Texas to Ohio in 2022. Since moving to Ohio, her care needs have evolved from Independent Living to Assisted Living and finally to Memory Care. These experiences have forged a deep empathy in both Mark and Rachel. They know firsthand the weight of each decision and the toll it takes on families.

Mark's career as a Geriatric Physical Therapist spans over 30 years, with a specialization in supporting elderly patients across various settings. Rachel's background in medical laboratory testing, health insurance, and customer service complements his expertise. United by their shared passion to advocate for families, they made the decision to bring Senior Care Authority to the Greater Cincinnati area.

Beyond their professional commitments, Mark and Rachel find joy in their large family, blessed with seven adult children and seven grandchildren. Together, they enjoy reading, travel, sports, and treasured moments with their family. They also enjoy volunteering in their church and local community.

Mark and Rachel's mission is simple. They strive not only to alleviate the burdens families face during these transitions but also to provide a comforting presence and unwavering support.

Reach out to them. You’ll be glad you did.

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.
