Why Is Senior Care Authority the Right Franchise Business Model for Them?

I learned about Senior Care Authority because I was a customer. Going through that experience, having someone guide us, listen to our needs, hit all the bullet points we were looking for, and make the entire process so much less stressful was amazing. And that’s why I wanted to become a franchisee.

I do this because I’ve always been drawn to seniors my entire life. I really enjoy helping them figure things out, discover new things, overcome challenges, and ultimately be able to enjoy their senior years instead of being afraid of them.

You’re very supported here. Your ideas are listened to, and help is readily available whenever you need it. It’s great. Frank and his team have been incredibly helpful in getting started with the franchise. I don’t think I go more than a couple days without talking to someone about the franchise, how things are going, challenges I’m facing, or ways to do things better.

I usually review the services we offer, some of which are at no charge, and others that are fee-based. Fortunately, I haven’t had anyone say, “Oh, that’s too much,” which is wonderful.

One of the great things I love about Senior Care Authority is that I can do this by myself. I get to work from home, I have a good work-life balance, and I still have all the support I need.

I have a Senior Care Authority franchise because of my father-in-law. As he began to age, we fell into every pitfall you can imagine. We struggled. We always said, “Wouldn’t it be great if there were someone who could navigate this entire thing for us?”

What makes Senior Care Authority unique is the process we use. We handhold families right from the beginning. We take the time at the outset to deeply understand their story. We don’t predict the outcome in advance: we allow them to discover it through the process. I call it the pursuit of dignity. It’s about the older adult and their dignity, and it’s my mission to make sure we find a dignified solution for every older adult I work with.

If you’re thinking about getting into the senior care industry or elder care consulting, there are three components essential to success. First, you need a heart for working with seniors. Second, you need to be a good coach, educator, and facilitator. Third, you need to be comfortable with business development, sales, and marketing.

Senior Care Authority does things in a way no competitor in this space is even capable of doing. That’s what differentiates a Senior Care Authority advisor.

We do this because we love to. We worked for other people all our lives. I was retired from the corporate world, and my business partner reached a point where he was tired of working for others. The first thing we agreed on was that we wanted to work for ourselves.

Typically, our calls come from a child or grandchild who discovers that Mom, Dad, Grandma, or Grandpa is having accidents, has fallen, or is in the hospital, and the hospital won’t send them home. It’s a crisis. We’re able to quickly identify what the options are, what they can afford, and where they want to be geographically.

We love what we do because when we’re done, people say, “Oh my God, thank you so much for helping us. We were in a crisis. You found her a fantastic place with everything she needs. Now that she’s there, we can get back to our lives again.”

Most of our business (about 85%) comes from fees received from the communities we place families in, very much like a realtor. When you buy a house, the person showing you homes doesn’t cost you anything; the seller pays their fee. It’s much the same for us.

And what we loved about Senior Care Authority was, first, Frank—knowledgeable and very experienced—and second, the training. They provided all the tools we needed to be successful.

We feel like we couldn’t have made a better choice!

I take care of people because I enjoy it. I like being the person who helps a family solve the problem of what to do or how to support an aging loved one.

There are many steps involved in making sure someone’s loved one will be safe and comfortable in a senior living situation. We ask a lot of questions, then look at the full range of senior living options and focus on the ones that are the best fit for each family. After that, we hold their hand through the tours.

Unless there’s a crisis, all of my interactions with families are marathons, not sprints. It takes time. If you try to rush or force the process — just like telling someone you’re taking their keys away — it doesn’t work. It takes patience and nurturing.

It all starts with families understanding that I’m going to walk through every step of the journey with them.

Beyond Driving with Dignity, as a franchise owner, has helped me immensely in a very crowded field, but crowded in a good way. It’s a true point of difference. People stop and listen because no one else is doing anything like it. Beyond Driving with Dignity has accelerated my ability to network within my territory and establish my credibility much faster.

What makes Senior Care Authority a great franchise opportunity is that the essence of our work is helping hold a family’s hand from start to finish.

I sit and listen. I want to take the time to truly understand your family’s situation. Every family is completely different. I cannot treat one client like another. That just wouldn’t work. So I take the time to do a full intake. I ask a lot of questions, but then I also sit back and listen.

We ask families about their loved one’s activities of daily living: How is Mom or Dad functioning at home? What’s working? What’s not working? I call myself an elder care strategist because every family is like a puzzle — what fits, and what doesn’t?

If you’re considering getting into the senior care industry, Senior Care Authority is truly the best because it offers all the services: residential placement, elder care consulting, and Beyond Driving with Dignity. They have a great set of resources, tools, videos, and a library of information.

The franchise has been a huge help and support. Without that background, I don’t think I would be where I am today with my success. But really, what it comes down to is the heart of the people in this franchise. The true value lies in the franchise owners themselves.

For anyone wanting to enter the senior care industry, you will not regret looking into Senior Care Authority. The support from the franchise members is incredible. They will be there for you day or night to answer all your questions. The support is, by far, the best.

I had no idea that my superpower would be helping families find the right assisted living communities for their parents. It gives me great satisfaction to be able to help people.

In my first year, I spent most of my time meeting one-on-one with people, attending networking events, and visiting assisted living communities. If you have sales experience or a sales background, it’s a very positive asset because even though we’re not selling people on the idea of moving into assisted living, we are moving a sale along.

The staff at Senior Care Authority was incredibly helpful, giving me the information I needed. They were always there for me, answering my questions. The training includes videos, but also one-on-one support. And if I couldn’t reach someone by phone, I could send an email or text and always got a response.

Usually, it’s the oldest daughter in the family—she’s in her 50s or 60s, busy with work, with kids in college, and suddenly something happens with her parents, and she doesn’t know what to do. I walk families through the entire process from beginning to end and make it as easy, quick, and stress-free as possible.

I do this because I love it!

I chose Senior Care Authority because it was an opportunity to combine many things I care about. It gave me the chance to work with older adults, which I love, while also giving me flexibility in my own life as a business owner and the ability to run the business in a variety of ways. Senior Care Authority offers us a strong template, but they don’t tell us how to make every burger. There’s a lot of flexibility in how we do our jobs, which is great.

They help in a wide variety of ways. First of all, they’re accessible. You may not always reach someone the moment you call, but within a day, they always get back to you—whether by phone, text, or email.

Another thing I love is that Senior Care Authority is constantly evolving. There are always new programs and ideas. We’re not a stagnant placement company: we’re a full-service elder care consulting company with a wide variety of programs. I’ve never reached out to a franchise owner who wasn’t willing to share ideas, offer suggestions, or talk through a situation. People are always willing to share their practical experience and explain how they’ve handled similar cases. That spirit comes from the top down: the approach leadership takes extends throughout the entire team.

You can’t go wrong with Senior Care Authority. The support is there, the knowledge is there, and the experience is there.

The great thing about working with Senior Care Authority, and in the senior care industry in general, is that if you’re willing to put in the time and effort to build and grow the business, the sky’s the limit for what you can achieve.

I’ve spent my entire life being a salesperson, a sales manager, and a sales coach. I always believed that the work I did was helping people, but none of it compares to the incredible feel-good aspect of what we do here.

Almost on a daily basis, families hug me and say, “Oh my gosh, Mike, I don’t know what we would have done without you.” That’s the kind of feeling I get from this work every single day. I can literally see the stress coming off the shoulders of the people I’m working with. Even on the very first phone call, they’ll say, “I feel so much better already.” That’s the takeaway you get from doing this work.

Placements in skilled nursing facilities are different because those facilities do not pay referral fees. So if I want to get paid for that business, I have to charge the family directly. It has been a wonderful addition to our business — about 20% of our revenue comes from this area — and it’s important because families truly need the help. They are often glad to pay our fees because we’re solving real problems for them.

Senior Care Authority is a wonderful business opportunity. But more than that, it’s a wonderful business to work in.

I chose Senior Care Authority and the placement industry because I wanted to make a difference in the community I grew up in. I’ve always been very comfortable around older adults, and when I see them struggling — and see their family members struggling — the compassion to help is what drives me.

I always tell people who are interested in getting into this business that if they’re doing it just for the money, it’s going to show. But if they’re doing it to genuinely help people, that will show just as clearly.

From the very beginning, I let families know that I will be with them during the tours we take. I help them ask the right questions and make sure they feel comfortable that they’re making the right decision. There’s never a rush. It’s always on their timeline. But I try to give them as much information as possible.

One of the main reasons I got into this business is that I don’t have to charge families anything to help them. If they choose one of the options I recommend, I receive a referral fee from the community.

Frank and his team at Senior Care Authority have been supportive the entire time I’ve been part of the organization. If I ever have questions, I can reach out to Frank personally or to any member of the team, and they help me get the answers I need.

I highly recommend Senior Care Authority for anyone who wants to get into the elder care industry.
