Why Frank Samson Built Senior Care Authority
There are businesses built around opportunity — and then there are businesses built around purpose.
For Frank Samson, founder of Senior Care Authority, the journey into senior care wasn’t part of a long-term business plan. It was personal.
During a recent appearance on the Values Based Life Podcast – Mentor Series, Frank shared the deeply personal experiences that ultimately led him to create a national eldercare consulting organization focused on helping families navigate one of life’s most difficult transitions.
After spending decades in the travel industry and building a successful franchise organization with more than 200 locations, Frank sold his company and relocated to California. Shortly afterward, both of his parents became seriously ill.
Within a matter of weeks, Frank lost both his father and mother.
Like millions of families across the country, he experienced firsthand the emotional stress, confusion, and overwhelming responsibility that often comes with caring for aging loved ones.
“This is pretty tough going through this with my folks,” Frank shared during the interview. “And I realized so many people are going to be facing these same challenges.”
That realization became the foundation for Senior Care Authority.
Helping Families Through Difficult Decisions
Today, Senior Care Authority works with families across the country to help guide them through senior care decisions, particularly when aging parents or loved ones require additional support, memory care, assisted living, or eldercare consulting services.
The organization’s primary focus is helping families:
- Understand available care options
- Navigate difficult healthcare and housing decisions
- Reduce stress and uncertainty
- Find the right senior living community or care solution
- Receive trusted guidance from experienced local advisors
Frank emphasized that many families don’t even realize services like this exist until they suddenly need help.
“People don’t know how to find the help,” he explained. “Most families have never gone through this before.”
For many families, the journey begins after a dementia, Alzheimer’s, or Parkinson’s diagnosis, often during an emotional crisis point where major decisions must be made quickly and under stress.
A Franchise Model Built on Local Relationships
One of the most unique aspects of Senior Care Authority’s growth has been its franchise model.
Rather than building a centralized call-center approach, Frank intentionally chose a local, community-based structure.
Why?
Because senior care decisions are deeply personal and local expertise matters.
“You really need somebody local who knows the communities, has visited the places, and understands the resources in that market,” Frank shared.
Today, Senior Care Authority supports families through a growing network of local advisors serving communities across the United States.
The company’s culture is also intentionally relationship-driven. During the podcast conversation, Frank discussed the importance of accessibility, communication, and creating an “open door” environment for franchise owners and team members alike.
Even in a virtual business environment, Frank believes connection matters.
“I always want people to know we’re there for them,” he explained.
Leading With Values
A central theme throughout the interview was the belief that businesses can absolutely be both mission-driven and profitable at the same time.
Senior Care Authority was built on the idea that helping families through difficult moments is meaningful work, and that compassionate service and strong business practices are not mutually exclusive.
“You can care, make a difference, and still build a successful business,” Frank said.
That philosophy continues to shape the company’s culture, franchise network, and long-term vision.
The episode was featured as part of the Mentor Series on the Values Based Life Podcast, a series dedicated to spotlighting organizations that operate in alignment with their mission, purpose, and values while creating engaging cultures where people genuinely love to work.
Looking Ahead
As the aging population continues to grow, so does the need for trusted eldercare guidance.
Frank noted that cognitive decline, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, and related conditions are becoming global challenges — not just issues impacting the United States.
Senior Care Authority continues to expand its reach while staying committed to its founding mission: helping families make informed decisions with compassion, expertise, and trusted local support.
Today, the organization serves families through a network of 100 advisors nationwide and continues to grow its network of mission-driven local advisors.
