Senior Care Advisor

I am a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), Certified Placement Referral Specialist (CPRS), Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). I work closely with seniors and their families to ensure they find the best possible living and care solutions—while feeling informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

Over the years, I have helped hundreds of families navigate the senior living landscape, providing clear answers, trusted guidance, and practical solutions so they can make educated decisions and create thoughtful, well-planned next steps.

I understand firsthand how stressful and overwhelming the search for care can be. Families are often faced with an abundance of options, complex financial considerations, specific care needs, and extensive paperwork—all while trying to make decisions during an emotional or urgent time.

That reality became deeply personal for me when my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. I was suddenly confronted with difficult questions I wasn’t prepared to answer: When should she move out of her home? What level of care does she truly need? Should I choose a large assisted living community or a smaller residential care home? I remember wishing there was someone knowledgeable and trustworthy who could help guide me through those decisions.

After more than 15 years in the long-term care, life insurance, and estate planning industries, I chose to become a Senior Care Authority Advisor—combining my professional expertise with the hard-earned lessons I gained while helping my mother through her Alzheimer’s journey. My goal is to help families avoid common pitfalls, reduce stress, and move forward with clarity and confidence, without repeating the mistakes my own family faced.

In addition to operating Senior Care Authority, I founded the National Placement and Referral Alliance (NPRA) of Sacramento in 2018 and served as its first President. I continue to serve on the Board of Directors today. As the trade association for the senior placement industry in the Sacramento region, NPRA represents over 50 members and is dedicated to advancing education, establishing best practices and a strong code of ethics, advocating for family choice, and protecting seniors from predatory practices.

Senior Care Advisor

Having personally navigated the senior care journey with my own parents, I understand firsthand how emotional and overwhelming these decisions can be. Combined with my professional background in transportation logistics, mortgage lending, and real estate, I bring a unique and practical skill set to helping families navigate complex senior care decisions and develop thoughtful, effective care strategies.

I work primarily with spouses and adult children who are faced with the difficult responsibility of placing a loved one into care. The senior care process is often fragmented and confusing—no two situations are alike, and each family brings its own dynamics, concerns, and challenges. My role is to simplify the process, provide clarity, and offer steady guidance during a time that can feel uncertain and stressful.

Senior Care Advisor visiting and going over information with senior clients

Your Advisor will meet with you in person to discuss your options and then accompany you on visits to places that meet your criteria. We ensure that all your questions are answered, and assist with paperwork and negotiations. The hallmark of our service commitment is that we are by your side every step of the way.

We are paid a referral fee by the communities and care homes so there is no cost to you for our placement services. In the rare case where we are not contracted with a community, your Advisor will let you know at the outset and explain any fees that might be incurred, should you choose that location. You can expect total transparency from us and we respect your right to choose.

Company History

Senior Care Authority

Senior Care Authority® was founded in 2009 by Frank and Michele Samson of Sonoma, California. They opened a local placement agency and learned everything there was to know about finding the right care situation for an older adult needing help with activities of daily living. They came to the Senior Care space with successful business development skills in their past as well as personal family experience finding care solutions. The business took off, primarily due to their diligence, compassion, and commitment to helping families.
