As a Senior Care Placement Specialist in North Riverside County, Clair Meske couldn’t be in a better position to apply his skills and experience. It is almost as if this position were tailor-made for the man who has worked in long-term care since 1988 as Executive Director at Assisted Living Communities and Skilled Nursing & Rehab Hospitals since 1988.
The preparation started when Clair earned his Master’s in Education in Counseling and Guidance from Montana State University. He would go on to assist people and provide leadership beginning at Loma Linda University and moving up through a variety of management positions in health and human services.
But it’s not just Senior Care Authority that feels Clair fits well in his current role. Clair explains that he interviewed Senior Care Authority’s founder before deciding to take ownership of the North Riverside County area. With a life-long dedication helping people, finding a company that matched his values was important.
Senior Care Authority serves families throughout the country through its network of professionals providing elder care consulting and personalized senior placement assistance to families seeking the best care options at home, assisted living and memory care communities.
“I know the industry, I understand what seniors and family members are going through and I am well positioned to help them find the right care at the right community,” says Clair.
One reason that assisted living is personal to Clair – years ago as a board member of Parkview Community Hospital Foundation he became friends with a fellow director while on a tour in the community. Three years later, Clair admitted his friend to the memory care unit.
“Dementia residents can’t tell us what they need,” Clair says. “We need to be in touch well enough that we can understand what they need.”
Staying in touch with resident’s families and the community he serves is something Clair does very well. Clair now spends much of his time touring and reviewing local living communities – including assisted living, independent living, dementia and memory care, and residential care homes. He meets one-on-one with families to assess their needs. Accompanies them on tours of pre-approved homes, assists them with their negotiations and paperwork, and follows up with his clients once the placement has been made.
You are invited to visit with Clair. You’ll soon see why his approach to all levels of care for seniors makes such a difference. Clair is married, 3 grown sons, 2 dogs, 3 desert tortoises. He earned his M.Ed at Montana State University. His community interests include: Riverside Rotary Club, (Past President), Parkview Community Hospital Foundation board member.
